Cal Simko has a background in industrial design, with a strong interest in prototyping and small-scale manufacturing. He is deeply inspired by New England's beautiful river valleys and the hills that frame them. These beautiful river valleys have always been home to things he loves including farming, forestry, manufacturing, and the railroad. He aims to produce quality tools that continue New England's traditions of these valleys.

After a few career driven years, Cal moved to Maine with his partner and broadened his knowledge of metal work, through observation of the practical fabrication and repair work that keeps Maine running.

Cal has returned to a mill village in central Vermont where he is focusing on product design, sugaring, and walking his dog.
